Covers of the Week - Mash-up Special

This week is some thing different (and of course anything different is good).  For those that don't know a mash-up is where multiple songs are are combined into one. Here is a link to my regular mashups playlist which I call Non-Linear Melodies. Tonight I've collected some of my favorite acoustic mash-ups and mash-up covers from my Organic Mashups Playlist on youTube.

Mashing up Umbrella and Singing in the Rain has been done multiple time by Jamie Cullum and Glee. My favorite version is by Sonnet its a little more tender and just a better covers.

On Nothin' On You vs. Hey Soul SisterKurt Schneider and AHMIR combine talents to create an absolutely marvelous and polished mashup

One if my favorite recent mash-ups is DJ Serge-N's mashup "Alejandro's Not A Robot" but due to copyright reasons it isn't on youtube. It Mashes Lady Gaga's Alejandro and Marina and the Diamonds I'm Not a Robot. Two Fans, Rayna and Abbey at brinkofeternity, have done a nice acoustic cover of the mash-up.

Paul Dateh and Ken Belcher do A Virtual Billionaire's Insanity (mash-up of Travie Mccoy: Billionaire and jamiroquai: Virtual Insanity

Two Much Cents with Vanilla Crosby do great mash-up of Weezer's "Say It Aint So" and Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" they call Marvin Geezer.

Carrie Evangeline does a mash-up of Hey Soul Sister by Train and Poker Face by Lady Gaga. You can tells she is a little unsure but she does a very good job.

The Cool Table is one of few Bands that do live mash-ups. Here is a the mash-up of The Killers, Billy Idol, Blondie!!!

Joseh has done many really great mash-up like this one Spirit of Revolution although I don't think he does mash-ups any more.

Others great mash-ups include: I don't believe it's too late, let tide be blind, and break on tequila

Corey TuT does a really fun mash-up of Lady Gaga- Poker Face, Michael Jackson Billie Jean, and Kim Zolciak-Tardy For The Party

And I'll end with another Mash-up Band that's a little over the top but lots of fun, Smash Up Derby. Here is is them performing a mash-up of U2's Sunday,Bloody Sunday and Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Want To Have Fun.
